    Welcome! The City of Battle Ground is located in the heart of Clark County, Washington just four miles east of Interstate 5. Battle Ground is a full-service City that functions as the social and commercial hub for central and north Clark County. The City is surrounded by scenic and pristine landscape and offers its residents an excellent quality of life.

    The City of Battle Ground was incorporated in June of 1951 and now operates under a Council-Manager form of government. The citizens of Battle Ground elect seven councilmembers who, biennially, select one of their members to serve as Mayor. The City Council establishes public policy and appoints the City Manager who is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the City.

    The City operates on a biennial budget of approximately $60 million (2011-12) and has a staff of 77 employees in its six departments - Community Development, Engineering/Public Works, Executive, Finance & Information Services, Parks & Recreation, and Police.
